Argosy University
Founded in 2001, Argosy University was formed when The American School of Professional Psychology, University of Sarasota, and The Medical Institute of Minnesota combined to become Argosy. Built on the foundation of those institutions Argosy has grown to include four colleges with 19 campus locations. The four colleges include the College of Psychology and Behavior Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, and College of Health Sciences. Argosy is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities. Argosy is a recognized by the United States Department of Education to fully award doctoral, master's, bachelor's, and associate's degrees. Argosy University offers students flexible class schedules and the freedom to attend online, on campus, or a mixture of both.

Argosy strives to be as flexible as possible so people with commitments such as work and family can still attend college. The programs are a mixture of practical skills and theory. The associate degree programs in health sciences are more focused on practical job skills for the career that is being studied. The health science degrees offered are Dental Hygiene, Ultrasound, Health Services Management, Histotechnology, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Technology, Radiation Therapy, Radiologic Technology, Veterinary Technology, and Pharmacy Technology.
The Pharmacy Technology degree offers students the opportunity to learn the skills to become a certified pharmacy technician. Students learn skills such as filling prescriptions, interpreting physician orders, pharmacy privacy and ethics, inventory management, pharmacology of drugs, pharmacy calculations, medical records maintenance, purchasing, and customer service. An externship opportunity is provided after the academic learning to help students put to practice things they have learned in the class. Students who successfully complete the program are encouraged to sit for the national pharmacy technician certification exam. Students also receive career and job search skills as part of the program.
