ATI Career Training Center
ATI Career Training Center has been in operation for over 35 years and continues to provide training in career oriented fields such as health care, business, information technology, health and wellness, electronics, and fitness. ATI has career centers based in Florida, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Each of ATI's schools is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges or ACCSC located in Arlington, Virginia. Within the health care division, ATI offers students the option to select a career in medical assisting, dental assisting, respiratory therapy, diagnostic ultrasound technology, and pharmacy technician.

The pharmacy technician program at ATI provides students with the opportunity to graduate with a certification in pharmacy tech. Coursework is completed in the classroom and lecture or seminar type instruction provides students with the skills required to achieve a career in pharmacies such as the retail industry, hospitals, long-term care facilities, manufacturing and distribution centers, or medical centers.
Some of the courses throughout the program include anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, patient care and diagnosis, and administration. Many of the classes contain laboratory components where students focus on the make-up of pharmaceuticals as well as common pharmacy practices. Students learn the basics of prescriptions, dosage form reading, drug classification, and drug interpretation. Some of the other required courses include computers in a pharmacy setting, interpersonal communication, pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, compounding, and the use of sterile products.
The school offers a career center on its campuses that provide workshops and additional training activities for students preparing to graduate and enter the workforce as a pharmacy technician. Some of the workshops at the career center include job interviewing skills, proper work attire, resume building, cover letter and application completion, and how to effectively negotiate a job offer. Graduates and alumni of the school can take advantage of these available resources.
