Brown Mackie College is an educational institution that offers a number of areas of study in over 24 locations across the United States. The history of the college dates back to the 1800's when the educational system began as the Kansas Wesleyan School of Business in 1892. In 1938 the school became owned by Perry E. Brown and A.B. Mackie who were former instructors of the Kansas Wesleyan School. Today the Brown Mackie College is located in 13 different states and is licensed by each individual state where it is found. Brown Mackie College offers degrees, diplomas, and certificates in programs such as business, early childhood education, general studies, veterinary studies, technology, legal studies, nursing, and health care. The health care program is broken up into a number of categories that students can emphasize in their career training. Some of the health care programs include dental assistant, occupational therapy assistant, surgical technology, health and fitness training, and pharmacy technology.

Students who enroll in the pharmacy technology program at Brown Mackie learn the skills and techniques required to work alongside a licensed pharmacist in a medical or hospital setting. The curriculum consists of pharmacology studies as well as pharmacy procedures, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacy office administration. General education, communication, and business courses are also available to the pharmacy tech students to assist in their professional growth.

The pharmacy program is available at nine Brown Mackie campuses including Akron, Atlanta, Findlay, North Canon, St. Louis, Albuquerque, Cincinnati, Louisville, and Northern Kentucky. Graduates of the program become prepared to achieve a successful career as a pharmacy technician in retail or wholesale pharmacy settings, hospitals, medical centers, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, pharmaceutical drum companies, or doctor's offices.
