Career Centers of Texas is a career training college that prepares students through its various diploma programs to take on entry-level positions in a variety of fields. Career Centers of Texas is certified and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges as well as the Texas Workforce Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. The college specializes in offering short-term programs with flexible class schedules so that working parents and adults can go to school while keeping their outside commitments. Classes are offered in the morning, evening, and weekends to accommodate students. Career Centers of Texas currently has campuses in Brownville, Corpus Christi, and El Paso, Texas.

Career Centers of Texas currently offer programs in industries such as Allied Health, Information Technology, Nursing, and the Trades. The Pharmacy Technician program, which falls under the auspices of the Allied Health School, is a short-term diploma program that combines hands-on learning, classroom lectures, and on-the-job externship experiences. Throughout the program students will learn the fundamental skills that need to be mastered in order to become a certified pharmacy technician.
Class curriculum includes hospital and retail pharmacy best practices, pharmacology with an emphasis on name brand and generic drugs and their affects on the body. The end of the program features an externship that gives students the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a real world setting. At the end of the program students are urged to sit for the national pharmacy technician certification exam that is conducted by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. Texas law requires that all pharmacy technicians must pass the exam and be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy to work as a pharmacy tech in Texas. Not all states have the same regulatory requirements.
