CTS Canadian Career College currently enrolls over 500 students at their locations in North Bay, Sudbury, and Barrie. CTS Canadian Career College is accredited by the National Association of Career Colleges and the Ontario Association of Career Colleges. CTS offers eleven different programs in industries such as health sciences, business, law and justice, and technology. The programs are designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs within the industry they are studying. Programs vary in length but all can be completed in less than one year.
The Pharmacy Technician program is a 44-week diploma course that teaches and trains students to become certified pharmacy technicians. The curriculum is based on the standards set forth by the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA), Canadian Pharmacy Technician Educators Association (CPTEA) and the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
The program focuses its curriculum on every aspect of the pharmacy technician job including customer service, medication preparation, and pharmacy information technology. Each instructor has specific training as well as industry experience in the courses they teach. The program also has a total of eight weeks of placements where students will be working in a pharmacy. Four weeks will be spent in a retail pharmacy with the remaining four weeks in a hospital pharmacy.
