Herzing College is a career training school with degrees and certifications in a wide variety of business, technology, and health care related fields of study. The school offers such degree programs as the fast paced three-year bachelor's degree completion program. Herzing College has been serving students since 1965 and today has graduated more than 40,000 students in business, health care, design, and technology. Campuses that make up Herzing College include Akron, Atlanta, Birmingham, Brookfield, Kenosha, Madison, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Orlando, and Toledo.

Many of the campuses through Herzing offer degree programs in health care related fields including medical assisting, dental assisting, surgical technology, health care management, physical therapy, and pharmacy technology. The pharmacy technology program prepares students with the basic skills needed to operate successfully in a pharmacy type setting. Many graduates of the certificate program go on to work as pharmacy technicians or pharmacy aides at hospitals, medical centers, nursing homes, or retail pharmacies.
The pharmacy program at Herzing includes instruction in and out of the classroom. Laboratories are set up to provide hands-on training for students aside from the day to day lectures. Students may participate in three days of lectures and one day of laboratory or clinical training to gain knowledge in real-world settings. An externship is also required prior to graduation and allows students the opportunity to work in a pharmacy setting alongside a pharmacy aide or licensed pharmacist. By participating in this non-paid program, students gain practical skills and build relationships with some of the leading pharmacists in the area. Some students who excel in the externship program are able to achieve employment with these facilities upon graduation. A career center is set up on campus at Herzing to assist students with their externship. The career services department provides externship opportunities and leads to students in their final year at Herzing.
