The US-based International Career School works in correlation with ICS Canada and is more commonly known as Penn Foster Career School or ICS. The school was founded in 1890 by a newspaperman named Thomas J. Foster. Through Mr. Foster, a distance learning program was established and today has served over 13 million students. The school offers career diplomas and certificates in highly focused career-minded fields. ICS is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools, the Distance Education and Training Council, and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Over 80 different programs are offered in the career diploma training interests including the pharmacy technician home training program. Students in the pharmacy technician program gain the skills needed to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam Review. Students who graduate from the program not only become successfully employable in a hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, medical center, or skilled nursing facility, but become eligible to take the PTCS (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) examination. For members of particular states, a state licensing is also required and students who successfully complete the pharmacy technician program at ICS Penn Foster become eligible for this licensing program. The at-home training program includes all study materials such as books, lessons, education equipment, study aids, toll free instructional support, and log in access to the program's website.
A large student center is available online including a full service bookstore and career services department. Press releases, testimonials, podcasts, and an interactive blog are all available to enrolled students. The popular ICS blog is open for discussions, opinions, insight, and helpful hints to coursework and the overall study at home programs.
