Keiser Career College

Keiser Career College was founded in 1988 and initially called Cruise Career Training Institute. The school was purchased in 1994 by Arthur and Belinda Keiser. In 1997 Cruise Career Training Institute officially changed its name to Keiser Career College to more accurately reflect the diverse program offerings. Keiser currently offers a wide array of programs in the medical and information technology fields at its five campus locations throughout Florida. Campus locations include Greenacres, Jacksonville, Miami Lakes, St. Petersburg, and New Port Richey.

Keiser Career College is nationally accredited by the accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology as well as the Commission for Independent Education (CIE), Department of Education. Keiser currently offers two-year associate's degrees and career diplomas to its graduates. All programs have a career-focused curriculum that specialize in teaching students the specific skills needed to gain entry-level employment in a specific field of study immediately after graduation.

The Pharmacy Technician program provides students with the skills to assist pharmacists with the distribution of medication. Pharmacy Technician students must be admitted into the college and pass the entrance exam before being admitted into the program. The Pharmacy Technician program is 67 credits including 43 major credits and 24 general education credits. The program can be completed in 18 months for full-time day students and 26 months for part-time evening attendees. Major classes include Introduction to Pharmacy Technician, Pharmaceutical Calculations, Body Systems and Drug Therapy I-IV, Pharmacy Operations, Sterile Products, and two externships at an approved facility.

Upon successful completion of the program students are awarded an Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technician and are eligible to sit for the Certified Technician Certification exam administered by the Pharmacy Certification Technician Board. The Pharmacy Technician program is offered at the Greenacres, Jacksonville, Miami Lakes, and St. Petersburg campuses.
