Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology is fully accredited and authorized to grant associate degrees, certificates and diplomas to students who complete their programs. All programs at OIPT are designed to be completed in a maximum of two years study time with many taking a year or less. The learning environment is less theory-based and more hands-on providing students with the required skills they will need to master in their field of choice.
The Pharmacy Technician Diploma program provides full training for students interested in becoming certified pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy technician program goals include teaching students to read, translate, and fill prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, understand the principles of Pharmacology, control inventory levels and flow, have a solid understanding of the fundamental principles within the pharmacy industry, properly complete medical and insurance claim forms, use pharmacy information technology software and hardware, understand medical laws and ethics, perform pharmacy calculations, and provide excellent customer service. The program ends with an externship, giving the student the opportunity to work in a health care setting putting to use the skills learned in the classroom.
During the program students also receive comprehensive career and job placement services. Job placement services are there to teach students the skills they do not learn in the classroom, but are still critical in obtaining an employment position. Skills taught are industry specific interviewing, job search skills, networking, resume writing, professional attire, and finding the right career choice.
