Pioneer Pacific College
Pioneer Pacific College was founded in 1981 as Skilltronics by James Childers in Corvallis, Oregon. In 1983 the institution moved to Wilsonville, Oregon to facilitate job placement within the greater Portland area. Today Pioneer Pacific College has five locations throughout Oregon that offer career focused training that can be completed within ten to seventeen months. Programs are offered in Business, Criminal Justice, Health Care, Information Technology, Legal, and Culinary Arts. Pioneer Pacific College is fully accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award diplomas, certificates and occupational associate degrees. Pioneer is nationally recognized by the Unites States Department of Higher Education as a degree granting institution.

All programs at Pioneer Pacific are designed to be flexible and short-term. Programs begin every ten weeks and classes are offered during the day and night. The Pharmacy Technician program is a certificate program and can be completed in 50 academic weeks. It is offered at the Health Care Institute in Wilsonville as well as the Eugene/Springfield campuses. Over the course of the program students learn a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of being a pharmacy technician. Each course is conducive to hands-on learning as students learn about pharmaceutical terminology, pharmacology, dosage calculations, medical record keeping, and legal regulations. The school has simulated pharmacy labs equipped with horizontal hood, mock medication vials, and compounding equipment.
Students at Pioneer Pacific College also receive job placement services. Although Pioneer Pacific cannot guarantee students employment the likelihood of employment goes up if students take advantage of services. Job placement services include resume writing, job search skills, networking, and mock interviewing. Students can also meet with career center staff members to help them decide on the right career. Graduates of Pioneer Pacific College receive lifetime career services to further their career and to enhance lifelong learning opportunities.
