Rasmussen College is a career college offering bachelor's degrees, associate's degrees, and certificates. Rasmussen College was founded in 1900 by Walter Rasmussen in Saint. Paul, Minnesota. The original purpose of Rasmussen College was to provide business training for the men and women of the Saint Paul area. Today Rasmussen serves over 12,000 students through their online education programs and the support campuses in Minnesota, Florida, Illinois, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. Rasmussen is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Rasmussen offers dozens of degrees for students to choose from. All degrees fall under the auspices of one of the Rasmussen schools that include the School of Allied Health, School of Business, School of Education, School of Justice Studies, School of Nursing, and the School of technology and Design. Students can complete a degree online or at one of the 18 campus locations throughout the United States.

The Pharmacy Technician program at Rasmussen is an associate's program that can be completed in just two years time. Students in the program learn anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical and ethical issues, pharmacology, pharmacy math and doses, pharmacy and billing information systems, and customer service. Students also learn specific skills such as accepting and interpreting prescriptions, compounding, maintaining medical records, mixing ingredients and medications, drug interactions, and inventory control.

Upon completion of the program students may sit for the national pharmacy technician certification examination. Upon successfully passing the exam, graduates will be nationally certified. The pharmacy technician program is offered completely online as well as most of the college campuses.

To further enhance students' chances for success, the career services office offers job placement assistance. Students can learn to write resumes, cover letters, search for jobs via the internet, and how to conduct a successful interview.
