Robert Morris University

Robert Morris University is a private university with locations throughout the state of Illinois. Robert Morris was founded over 90 years ago and has grown to be the seventh largest private university in the state. Robert Morris University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association. The Higher Learning Commission is one of the six regional accrediting bodies in the United States and offers the highest form of accreditation available. RMU is authorized to award master's, bachelor's, and associate's degrees.

The main Robert Morris campus is located in Chicago along with branch campus locations in the Illinois cities of Bensenville, Aurora, Elgin, Waukegan, Orland Park, Peoria, Springfield, and Schaumburg. Robert Morris University is separated into six individual schools. Those schools include the Institute of Culinary Arts, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, School of Business Administration, Institute of Art and Design, School of Computer Studies, and the Morris Graduate School of Management.

The Pharmacy Technician program at Robert Morris offers an associate's degree, and can be completed within 15 months. Students in the program will learn to work side by side with pharmacists in receiving and verifying prescriptions, ordering and controlling inventory, pricing and filling prescriptions, building and maintaining patient records, and completing insurance claims. The program consists of 48 credits of major courses, 36 credits of general education courses, and eight career management credits for a total of 92 credits. Major core courses include:

Upon completion of the program students can sit for the national pharmacy technician certification exam. Upon passing the exam students are nationally certified as pharmacy technicians.
