Tucson College offers programs in pharmacy technician, administrative assistant, medical office billing and coding, certified nursing assistant, patient care technician, medical assistant, and electrical technician. Programs are designed to be flexible to allow students to tend to other commitments while going to school. The focus at Tucson College is on small class sizes, short programs, hands-on learning, and faculty with academic and professional experience in the subjects they teach.
Tucson College offers job placement assistance to all students. This is done through a variety of services that include presenting graduates to employers as potential hires, the development of quality resumes and cover letters, how to conduct oneself in a professional manner, how to search for jobs, job search tools and resources, and practice interviews.
The Pharmacy Technician program focuses on building the skills needed to be a successful entry level pharmacy tech. The curriculum is based on real world job duties and situations that pharmacy technicians face each day. Students learn in contemporary laboratories how to prepare prescriptions, control inventory, sterilize equipment, use pharmacy mathematics, and serve customers. The program ends with an externship in an approved pharmacy. Upon graduation students are encouraged to sit for the national pharmacy technician certification exam.
