UEI College specializes in hands-on training in careers such as business management, business office management, certified automotive technician, computer systems technician, criminal justice, dental assistant, massage therapy, medical assistant, medical billing and coding, pharmacy technician, and vocational nursing. Many of the career diplomas at UEI do not require a high school diploma or GED. UEI is also approved to train veterans and assist people with learning or physical disabilities.
The programs at UEI are specifically designed with the main goal of helping students gain entry level employment opportunities in the field that they choose to study. Most of the diploma programs can be completed in just eight months while the Associate of Applied Science in Business Management can be completed in just 16 months.
The Pharmacy Technician program at UEI can be completed within eight months. Students are taught through hands-on learning how to conduct the day to day duties of a pharmacy tech. Students learn how to prepare prescription orders for customers, order medical supplies and medication, sterilize equipment, perform pharmacy calculations, bill medical insurance companies, create and maintain medical records, and provide customer service.
A diploma in Pharmacy Technician studies from UEI can prepare students for a variety of careers such as a hospital inpatient pharmacy technician, outpatient pharmacy technician, medical purchasing, home health pharmacy technician, retail technician, mail order pharmacy technician, medical sales, drug manufacturing clerk, and rehabilitation pharmacy technician. Graduates are also prepared to sit for the national pharmacy technician certification exam.
