Utah Career College offers several degrees and diplomas in business, health sciences, information technology, and legal sciences. Programs are designed to encourage hands-on learning and practical skill building that transfer directly into the occupation being studied. The content of each course is career-driven and the goal is to teach the student to become a successful employee in the field they are studying. The goal of each program is for the student to procure a job before or shortly after graduation. In order to keep curriculum current, each program is monitored and evaluated by a professional advisory board. Each advisory board is made up of working professionals, business owners, and leaders within their respective fields.
The pharmacy program is monitored and overseen by a contingency of eight certified pharmacy technicians and licensed pharmacists. The program offers a 12 month diploma and a two-year associate's degree. The pharmacy diploma is 48 credits and emphasizes pharmacy law and procedures, pharmacology, pharmacy certification, office procedures and an externship. The associate degree in pharmacy technician studies focuses on anatomy and physiology, chemistry in the health professions, pharmacy procedures and calculations, and pharmacology. Both programs prepare students for the rigor of being an entry level pharmacy technician.
To assist students in obtaining employment there are several job placement services. Career placement services include interview preparation, resume writing, networking, job placement skills, and professional appearance and conduct. Students who take advantage of these services can greatly increase their chances of employment.
