Vatterott College
Vatterott College was established in 1969 in St. Louis, Missouri under the name Urban Technical Centers Inc. The center changed its name to Vatterott College in 1985 when the Accrediting Commission of the National Association of Trade and Technical Schools approved the school to grant associate degrees. Today Vatterott offers over 175 programs at 21 campus locations throughout the Midwest. Vatterott is fully authorized to award career diplomas, Associate of Arts and Science degrees, Associate of Occupational Studies degrees, Associate of Applied Science degrees, and Bachelor of Science degrees.

The programs at Vatterott are designed by industry professionals and taught by instructors with academic and work experience in the subjects they teach. The course curriculums are career-focused and meant to provide students with specific skill sets that they will need to succeed on the job. The careers choices cover a multitude of careers and industries such as court reporting, building maintenance, electrical mechanic, HVAC, dental assistant, medical assistant, combination welding, computer aided drafting, pharmacy assistant, information security systems, medical assistant, culinary arts, and web design to name a few. The programs are designed to be flexible for working students to be able to continue with their other commitments while earning their degree or certificate. Class times are during the morning, day, night, or online to provide maximum convenience.
The Pharmacy Technician program at Vatterott College teaches the fundamental skills needed to be a successful pharmacy technician. Students learn specific skills such as how to operate pharmacy information systems, how to prepare medications, interpret prescription orders, order medical supplies, bill insurance companies, and prepare medical records. Students learn subjects such as pharmacology, pharmaceutical mathematics, biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, medical laws and ethics, and communication. Towards the end of the program students receive the opportunity to work in a pharmacy side by side with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians putting to use the skills they learned in the classroom.
